Join the transformative 4-week Documentary Workshop led by the esteemed sports documentary producer, Â <name TBD>, and unlock the art of crafting compelling sports stories on screen. Through hands-on training and personalized mentorship, participants will immerse themselves in the world of sports filmmaking, gaining valuable insights into pre-production, field filming, interviews, editing, and post-production techniques.
Week 1: Introduction to Documentary Filmmaking
- Participants meet  <name TBD>, the award-winning sports documentary producer, and get an overview of the workshop.
- Introduction to the art of documentary storytelling, understanding different genres and styles.
- Identifying potential documentary ideas and selecting the most promising concept for their half-hour documentary project.
- Participants dive deep into research techniques to gather information and background for their chosen documentary topic.
- Learn how to develop compelling narratives and create a detailed treatment for their projects.
- Introduction to the logistics of pre-production, including budgeting, scheduling, and securing necessary permissions.
Week 2: Camera Techniques and Field Filming
- Hands-on training in camera techniques led by  <name TBD> and his team.
- Field filming exercises in different settings, honing skills in capturing compelling footage and interviews.
- Understanding the importance of storytelling through visuals and sound in sports documentaries.
Week 3: Interview Techniques and Specialized Filming
- Master the art of conducting powerful interviews with athletes, coaches, and other key subjects.
- Learn specialized filming techniques for capturing sports action sequences and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Participants work closely with  <name TBD> to refine their documentary concepts and narratives.
Week 4: Editing and Post-Production
- Introduction to video editing software and techniques.
- Participants start assembling their documentary projects, focusing on narrative structure and pacing.
- Receive personalized feedback from <name TBD> and his team to enhance their storytelling and visual aesthetics.
- Participants continue editing and polishing their short documentaries.
- Finalize sound design, color grading, and any additional post-production elements.
- Workshop concludes with a showcase event where participants present their completed documentaries to a select audience, including industry professionals, friends, and family.
Post-Workshop: Continued Mentorship and Distribution
- After the workshop, participants have the opportunity for continued mentorship from the Blackline team.
- Access to a network of sports documentary professionals and potential collaborators to support future projects through Blackline Network, an exclusive community of documentary enthusiasts.
- Distribution of the documentary produced to major film festivals and/or major channels internationally.
