About the event

In this unique learning experience, participants will have the opportunity to delve deep into the Serendipity Arts Festival of Goa while honing their nonfiction storytelling techniques.

  • Work on a real documentary which will be edited by participants during the April 2024 Documentary Editing Course, thus converting your expedition's footage into a short film (which you will get credit on, and can use in your portfolio). 
  • Learning about actuality filmmaking style and the co-ordination of audio with visuals in documentary filmmaking. Learn how to create evocative sequences that resonate with the audiences.
  • Internationally experienced documentary experts who are also working professionals. 
  • Collaborative Filmmaking: Co-ordinating on a multi-unit team filming sequences at different locations simultaneously. 
  • Get one-on-one personalised guidance on your career as a documentary cinematographer or independent docu filmmaker, learning about discovering your unique style. 
  • Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Maheshwari textiles, renowned for their intricate craftsmanship and historical significance. Visit traditional weaving centers, interact with skilled artisans, and witness the age-old techniques passed down through generations.

  7. Day 7: Creative Filming Techniques (Time-lapse, slow-motion, and movement)
  8. Day 8: Collaborative Filmmaking
  9. Day 9: Field Filming - Textile Heritage Sites
  10. Day 10: Going Through the Footage
  11. Day 11: Editing Actuality and Feedback
  12. Day 12: One-On-One Expert Guidance 
  13. Day 13: Farewell Lunch and Travel Back

By the end of this extraordinary course-cum-expedition, participants will not only possess advanced camera techniques but also come out having shot a multi-unit documentary about textiles in Maheshwar (which will be edited within a few month).
